Con esta pieza, me propongo indagar sobre las fronteras de lo querible. Vivimos en un mundo antropocéntrico: creamos sistemas, construcciones y tecnologías a la medida del Hombre. Sin embargo, como señala el bioneurólogo italiano Stefano Mancuso, junto a todos los mamíferos representamos apenas el 0,3% de la biomasa del planeta. En contraste, el mundo vegetal constituye el 86,7%, los hongos el 1,2%, y el resto lo conforman microorganismos. Inclusive, siguiendo el concepto de Holobionte, introducido por la Dra. en microbiología Lynn Margulis todo animal, ser humano o planta —independientemente de su tamaño— vive en simbiosis con múltiples microorganismos. Incluso existen organismos unicelulares que albergan otros seres simbiontes en una relación estrecha y continua.
En este contexto, genero esta obra con la intención de profundizar en los vínculos interespecie a través de sombras de distintas especies de vegetación y animales. Imágenes en movimiento donde el carácter fantasmal de las sombras producen diversidades que se difuminan, se alteran, se mixturan y movilizan, donde la convivencia interespecie se presentifica. Los espectros funcionan como espejos de un antetiempo donde viviamos en comunión con la naturaleza. Una ilusión de presencias vedadas nos interroga más de lo que nos representa.
Esta pieza surge como profundización de mi serie No es la Naturaleza, es su sombra originada en formato mapping para Fantasmática (muestra individual en Fundación Andreani 2025), y se produjo durante mi residencia en Encuentro Mass Mediaciones en 2025 organizado por Universidad del Valle en Cali (con el apoyo del programa argentino Presente Continuo de Arte Ciencia y Tecnologia organizado por Fundación Williams, Fundación Bunge y Born, con el apoyo de Centro Cultural de España en Buenos Aires y Fundación Andreani).

With this piece, I aim to investigate the boundaries of the 'cherishable.' We live in an anthropocentric world: we create systems, constructions, and technologies tailored to Man. However, as pointed out by the Italian bioneurologist Stefano Mancuso, together with all mammals, we represent barely 0.3% of the planet's biomass. In contrast, the plant world constitutes 86.7%, fungi 1.2%, and the rest is made up of microorganisms. Furthermore, following the concept of the Holobiont introduced by Dr. in microbiology Lynn Margulis, every animal, human being, or plant—regardless of its size—lives in symbiosis with multiple microorganisms. Even single-celled organisms exist that host other symbiotic beings in a close and continuous relationship.
In this context, I create this work with the intention of deepening interspecies bonds through the shadows of different species of vegetation and animals. Moving images where the ghostly nature of shadows produces diversities that blur, alter, mix, and mobilize, and where interspecies coexistence is made present. The specters function as mirrors of a pre-time where we lived in communion with nature. An illusion of forbidden presences interrogates us beyond what represents us.
This piece emerges as a deepening of my series It is not Nature, it is its shadow, originated in a mapping format for Fantasmática (solo exhibition at Fundación Andreani 2025), and was produced during my residency at the Encuentro Mass Mediaciones in 2025, organized by the Universidad del Valle in Cali (with the support of the Argentine program Presente Continuo for Art, Science, and Technology, organized by Fundación Williams and Fundación Bunge y Born, with the support of the Centro Cultural de España in Buenos Aires and Fundación Andreani)
